IEEE Computer Society: “the computing professional's single, unmatched
source for technology information, inspiration, and collaboration” ha quasi 70
anni di attività, oltre 100.000 soci e 200 Chapters in 160 paesi
–  La storia
•  nel 1946 nasce il Subcommittee on Large-Scale Computing Devices (LCD) dello
American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) e lo Institute of Radio Engineers
(IRE) forma il Professional Group on Electronic Computers (PGEC)
•  nel 1963 AIEE/LCE e IRE/PGEC si fondono per formare lo Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
•  nel 1966 viene emesso il primo numero del periodico Computer Group News e il
Computer Group diviene la prima società IEEE che assume personale
•  nel 1971 il Computer Group diviene IEEE Computer Society, una delle 40 società
organizzate nello IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB)
•  nel 2002 viene lanciata la credenziale Certified Software Development
Professional (CSDP)
•  nel 2008 viene lanciata la credenziale Certified Software Development Associate
