Particular emphasis will be placed on the even more complex relationship between gas and renewables, regarding which the “CCGTs affair” represents one but not the only key issue (e.g. distributed generation as a game changer). The conference pursues a European perspective and pays particular attention to those markets (Italy, Germany, Spain and UK) currently being particularly affected by the RES vs. fossil fuels debate. The conference will address the main economic and regulatory issues from various perspectives, beginning with the regulatory and academic views. The focus will be on market design: e.g. what are the main challenges of a RES and gas-fired generation’s coexistence? How should market design and regulation help meet these challenges? A roundtable with CEOs and senior executives from key industry stakeholders will follow, bringing the view of leading companies to the debate. The conference will conclude with remarks from the President of the Italian Energy Authority. invito_IEFE-21january_new_invito_IEFE-22marzo.qxd 20/01/2014 11.36 Pagina 3 9:00am Registration 9:30am Welcoming Remarks Andrea Sironi Rector, Università Bocconi Introduction Michele Polo IEFE and eni Chair in Energy Markets, Università Bocconi Sylvain Megarbane Société Générale Keynote Speech The Regulatory Perspective Alberto Pototschnig ACER 10:30am Coffee Break 11:00am The Academic Perspective Chair Arturo Lorenzoni IEFE Università Bocconi The British Electricity Market Richard Green Imperial College The German Electricity Market Karsten Neuhoff DIW Berlin The Spanish Electricity Market Carlos Batlle Universidad Pontificia Comillas The Italian Electricity Market Matteo Di Castelnuovo IEFE Università Bocconi Conclusions Pippo Ranci Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore 1:00pm Light Lunch 2:00pm Round Table The View of the Industry Chair Alberto Ponti Société Générale Speakers Francesco Amadei Enel Distribuzione Sabine Augustin E.ON Global Commodities Paolo Pollesel Eni Fabrizio Rinaldi Edison Peter Styles EFET Graham Weale RWE 4:00pm Conclusions Guido Bortoni AEEG invito_IEFE-21january_new_invito_IEFE-22marzo.qxd 20/01/2014 11.36 Pagina 2 For information IEFE tel. +39 025836.3820 [email protected] Registration required at www.unibocconi.eu/events
