In de historische hospitaalsite ‘Oud Sint-Jan’, ontdekt het
publiek 300 originele werken van moderne kunst, van de
impressionisten tot het genie van de 20e eeuw : PABLO PICASSO.
In 2014 illustreert deze tentoonstelling de gemeenschappelijke
punten tussen Picasso en Warhol, dit niettegenstaande ze
mekaar nooit hebben ontmoet ! 100 originele werken van deze
Amerikaanse kunstenaar vervolledigen de permanente
tentoonstelling van Picasso. Een bezoek geeft de thema’s weer
eigen aan Andy Warhol : de Campbell’s Soup Cans, de eerste
consumptiegoederen, de publiciteit, het ontstaan van de PopArt, Marilyn Monroe, de ‘Superstars’ en de angst voor de dood.

Dans l’ancien hôpital Oud Sint-Jan, le public peut découvrir 300
œuvres originales d'art moderne, depuis les impressionnistes,
jusqu’au génie du XXe siècle : Pablo Picasso. En 2014, cette
exposition détaille les points communs entre Picasso et Warhol,
alors qu’ils ne se sont jamais fréquentés. Ce sont ainsi près de
100 œuvres originales de l’artiste américain qui complètent le
parcours permanent. La visite aborde les thématiques chères à
Andy Warhol : les Campbell’s Soup Cans, les premiers objets de
consommation, la publicité, la naissance du Pop Art, Marilyn
Monroe, les « Superstars » et la peur de la mort.

In the former Old Saint-Jan’s hospital, visitors can discover 300
original works of Modern Art, from the impressionists to the
genius of the 20th century, PABLO PICASSO. This 2014 exhibition
illustrates the common ground between Picasso and Warhol,
even though they never actually met. It is illustrated by almost
100 original works by the American artist which round off the
permanent PICASSO exhibition, dealing with themes dear to
Andy Warhol, such as ; the Campbell’s Soup Cans, the first
consumer objects, advertising, the birth of Pop Art, Marilyn
Monroe, the “Superstars” and the fear of death.
