commit to milestones
Afspraken. Plannen. Daar kwam het op aan tijdens de off sites
tussen Staatsolie REP en Saipem management. De constructiefase bevindt zich momenteel in de piek en reeds worden
voorbereidingen getroffen om enkele systemen op te starten,
de zogenoemde precommissioning. In februari en maart kwam
het management in verschillende sessies bij elkaar om de milestones voor de komende periode te onderstrepen en elkaar te
motiveren om de gestelde doelen niet uit het oog te verliezen.
De groep bestond uit Constructie en Commissioning & Startup
(CSU), waarvan de eerste moet afronden, zodat CSU haar activiteiten kan uitvoeren. Ook Refining Operations nam deel aan
de sessies. Partijen hebben zich gecommitteerd om aan de volgende milestones te werken waaronder:
• Elektrische aansluiting van het sub station
• Opstarten van de koelwaterpompen
• Opstarten van de luchtcompressoren
De volgende stap zal zijn om samen met CSU de systemen op
te leveren; deadline voor de laatste milestone is 15 mei 2014.
Het management houdt regelmatig meetings met de werkvloer
en doet dagelijks observaties op de site om de voortgang van
de gestelde milestones te volgen.
Appointments. Plans. That’s what it all came down to during the
off sites between Staatsolie REP and Saipem management.
The construction phase is currently at the peak and already
preparations are done to start up some of the new systems; the
so-called pre-commissioning phase. In February and March,
the management came together in various sessions to highlight
the milestones for the coming period and motivate each other
not to lose focus on the set objectives. The group consisted
of Construction and Commissioning & Startup (CSU), the first
which must complete for CSU to perform its activities. Also Refining Operations took part in the sessions. The parties have
committed to work on the following milestones, including:
• Final energization of the sub station
• Start-up of the cool water pumps
• Start-up of the air compressors
The next step will be to work with CSU to complete the
systems; deadline of the last milestones is the 15th of May
2014. The management holds regular meetings with the workforce and does daily observations on the site to monitor the
progress.

HDD boringen Pipeline project gestart
HDD drilling Pipeline project started
Op zaterdag 8 maart arriveerde het schip met de boormachine en boorequipment in Suriname, waarna op 15 maart
de eerste HDD boring kon worden uitgevoerd op het terrein
van de SOL. SOL en GOw2 zijn de afnemers waar diesel en
gasoline naartoe verpompt zullen worden via pijpleidingen.
Via een derde pijpleiding zal er van Ogane gas worden ontvangen dat nodig is in het raffinage proces. Het Nederlandse
bedrijf Visser & Smit Hanab is belast met uitvoering van de
HDD boringen en het aanleggen van de pijpleidingen, maar
werkt met lokale contractors zoals, CEAD, Haukes, & Rocco
Pallas. In de afgelopen periode hebben de voorbereidende
werkzaamheden plaatsgevonden, waaronder het bouwen van
een boorplatformeilandje voor SOL/Ogane, aanleggen van
werkstroken en uitvoeren van laswerkzaamheden. Intussen
is SOL verlaten en is een aanvang gemaakt bij SOL/ Ogane.
De boringen duren tot medio mei 2014.
On Saturday, March 8th the ship arrived with the rig and drilling
equipment in Suriname, while the first HDD drilling could be
conducted on the premises of the SOL on the 15th of March.
SOL and GOw2 are the customers where diesel and gasoline will be pumped to via a pipeline. Through a third pipeline
Staatsolie will receive gas from gas company Ogane that will
be necessary in the refining process. The Dutch company
Visser & Smit Hanab is responsible for the HDD drilling and the
construction of the pipelines, but works together with local contractors such as CEAD, Haukes, & Rocco Pallas. In the past
weeks preparatory works were done including the construction
of an oil rig island at SOL/Ogane, construction of a working strip
and performing of the welding activities. At the moment SOL is
abandoned and drilling works started at SOL/ Ogane.
The HDD drilling activities will take place until mid-May 2014.

REP bereikt weer safety mijlpaal
REP reaches another safety milestone
Op 08 maart 2014 bereikte het Refinery Expansion project weer
een safety mijlpaal met 3 miljoen veilig gewerkte manuren. In
een bijeenkomst op woensdag 19 maart werd zoals gebruikelijk
de nu meer dan 1800 constructiewerkers toegesproken door
het REP- en Saipem management en de Algemeen directeur
Marc Waaldijk. Deze nieuwe mijlpaal werd bereikt 1,5 maand
na de laatste, die viel op 20 januari. Verwachtbaar is dat het
project de in totaal 5 miljoen geplande manuren zal passeren.
On March 8, 2014 the Refinery Expansion Project reached another milestone with safe 3 million safe man-hours worked. In a
get together with the now more than 1800 construction workers
on Wednesday, March 19th, this was addressed as usual by
the REP- and Saipem management and the managing director,
Marc Waaldijk. This new milestone was achieved 1.5 months
after the last, which fell on January the 20th. Expectable is that
the project will pass the total of 5 million planned man hours.
