PVO INterieurFO 02 oktober 2014, Biennale Interieur Kortrijk Xpo 17-26.10.2014 De Biënnale Interieur Kortrijk is een toonaangevende internationale design-biënnale voor hedendaagse vormgeving in de Belgische stad Kortrijk die voor het eerst werd georganiseerd in 1968. De beurs wordt door de Interieur Foundation om de twee jaar georganiseerd in de maand oktober van de even jaren en vindt telkens plaats in het beurzencomplex Kortrijk Xpo. Tijdens deze beurs tonen interieurfabrikanten hun nieuwe of vernieuwende interieurproducten aan zowel een vakpubliek als aan het grote publiek. Gaandeweg zijn naast de beurs zelf ook tal nevenactiviteiten ontstaan rondom het evenement: het uitnodigen een eregast, de Design for Europe-wedstrijd (vanaf 1970), the YoungDesignersFair, Design at Work, Exterieur, debatten en lezingen. Verspreid over 6 tentoonstellingszalen en een totaal van 40.000m2, met meer dan 250 exposanten geeft de Xpo Kortrijk je een overzicht van 360º van de trends van de hedendaagse markt. ! ! PVO INterieurFO 02 oktober 2014, Oproep aan Nederlandse ontwerpers: International Biënnale Interieur Kortrijk Nederlandse vormgevers wordt gevraagd een voorstel in te dienen voor deelname aan een Dutch Design ruimte in Kortrijk tijdens de Interieur Biënnale van 17-26 oktober 2014. De Nederlandse ambassade in Brussel zet zich in om de Nederlandse design sector onder de aandacht te brengen in België. In het najaar van 2014 vindt in Kortrijk van 17-26 oktober de 24e editie van de International Biënnale Interieur plaats. De ambassade zal deze editie samenwerken met Ventura Interieur om Nederlandse ontwerpers de kans te bieden werk te tonen in een speciale Dutch Design ruimte. De ruimte (30m2) zal door een curator op een samenhangende manier worden ingericht met als opdracht een podium te bieden aan een aantal geselecteerde Nederlandse vormgevers binnen het thema 'upcycling en functional redesign’. Upcycling is het aanpassen van een bestaand product in een duurzaam product op een hoger functioneel niveau. Functional redesign betekent dat objecten een nieuwe toepassing krijgen door uitvoering in een ander materiaal, door aanpassingen aan het object of door een andere samenstelling van objecten. ! The Biennale Interieur runs a continuous free shuttle service for all Biennale visitors in partnership with Audi during the Biennale, linking Kortrijk Xpo and the Buda Island in the Centre of Kortrijk from noon till midnight.
