Wij laten u graag kennismaken met de verschillende
deelgebieden ‘terroir’ in de Cognac en Armagnac streek.
Elk terroir heeft juist zijn specifieke smaakkenmerken.
De volgende hebben wij voor u geselecteerd:
Calvados is een distillaat van appels en peren wat
vervolgens minimaal twee tot drie jaar op eikenfusten
gerijpt wordt. Ook hier hebben wij 2 gebieden voor
u geselecteerd; Pays d’Auge en Domfrontais.
We are pleased to introduce you to the various ‘terroir’
areas in the Cognac and Armagnac regions. Each terroir
makes for a distinctive set of flavors. We have made the
following selection for you:
Calvados is a distillate of apples and pears, which has
aged in oak casks for at least two or three years. As we
did before, we have selected the following 2 areas for
you: Pays d’Auge and Domfrontais.

Het oostelijk deel van Schotland, de gebieden Lowland, Highland,
Orkney, Campeltown en Ierland, zijn over het algemeen de
‘zachtere’ whisky’s. De meer uitgesproken whisky’s op het gebied van
ziltig, rokerig en turf komen van het westelijk deel van
Schotland, de gebieden: West-Highland, Skye en Islay.
“SLÁINTE!”, zoals ze proost zeggen in Schotland.
As a rule, ‘smooth’ whiskies are produced in Ireland and the east
of Scotland, Lowland, Highlands, the Orkneys, Campbeltown.
The tangier, smokier and peatier whiskies come from the west of
Scotland: West-Highlands, Skye and Islay. As the Scots say
when they toast: “SLÁINTE!”
