These two universities have collaborated on education and research projects since 2004 through an international university network called “the Africa-Asia University Dialogue for E d u c a t i o n D e v e l o p m e n t ”. U n d e r t h e framework of the network, this student forum is organized as the first activity initiated and conducted by students ourselves. Hiroshima University selected eleven students, and Kenyatta University selected twelve students from student union. The forum will discuss issues of inter-cultural understanding (“Culture and Life”) and current pressing problems of energy (“Energy Policy”). Fieldwork will also be conducted in relation to these issues. The Forum is not only designed to promote academic discussion but also to mutually understand each other and thus further strengthen our friendships.
