Rights Information Interoperability (RII) on IPTV
services (tentative)
Background:
Presented a first idea and suggested to start discussion
by TC100 TA8 and SG16 Q3 at the High level meeting
held in Sao Paulo on November 2008.

IEC TC100 and ITU-T SG16 Joint work
Status:
1) Had a first joint meeting and introduced a concept with draft NP
in Soul on April 2009. The joint team on RII expects that document
will be common text for right information and meta data for
distributing content that provides interoperability between IPTV
services and IPTV terminals.
2) Had a first Ad-Hoc meeting in Geneva on May 2009 and reported
the results of joint Meeting held on April. Confirmed a direction
of common text and suggested to continue progress by joint
team. The both IEC and ITU managements will discuss and find an
appropriate and workable guide for joint work of Rights Information
Interoperability on IPTV services.
TA8 is hoping NP to be ready in second half 2009.
