Two-way Immersion (TWI) Information Sessions
for Incoming Kindergarten Students
to Katy Independent School District
The TWI Program, currently offered at Fielder Elementary and Memorial Parkway Elementary,
is a 50/50 instructional model which serves a combination of native Spanish speakers and native
English speakers. The students are taught together during the school day in an effort to develop
bilingualism and cultural diversity.
The Office of Other Languages will be conducting TWI information sessions for students entering
kindergarten in the 2015-16 school year. These sessions will provide parents with information
regarding the application process, requirements for entry into the TWI program and the structure
of the program. Information sessions will be provided in English or in Spanish.

Reuniones informativas sobre el
Programa de Doble Inmersión en el Distrito Escolar de Katy
para estudiantes que van a entrar al kínder
El programa de doble inmersión, que está actualmente disponible en las escuelas primarias Fielder
y Memorial Parkway, ofrece instrucción 50% en inglés y 50% en español a estudiantes cuyas lenguas
maternas son español o inglés. Los estudiantes aprenden juntos durante el día escolar con el fin de
desarrollar el bilingüismo y la diversidad cultural.
El departamento de otros idiomas ofrecerá reuniones informativas para la admisión al programa de
doble inmersión para estudiantes que entrarán a kínder en el año escolar 2015-16. Estas reuniones
proveerán información acerca del proceso de aplicación, los requisitos para la admisión al programa
de doble inmersión y la estructura del programa. Las reuniones informativas se proveerán en inglés
