Spiritual Adoption
20 Weeks
At 20 weeks, I weigh about 11 ounces, and I am around 7
inches from head to bottom, and 10 inches from head to
heel. I can hear and recognize my mother's voice. The
sounds I hear in the womb, will be the sounds that comfort
me when I am born. This is an important time for my
sensory development. I am fragile, but if I were born, I may
be able to survive.
This is a critical time in the development of the fetus. It is
also the week in which the government says that a baby can
feel pain, so there is legislation pending that argues abortion
should not be performed after the 20 week mark. While that
is a good start, let me leave you with this question to
ponder. Is feeling no pain justification for an abortion? We
certainly wouldn't justify taking the life of any human outside
the womb provided we could remove their pain, would we?
If you have any questions about the pro-life ministry or would
like to join, please call Lori Videan at 843-503-3607.
VIRTUS CLASS: It takes a village to get it all done. The
next VIRTUS Safe Environment Session Protecting God's
Children will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, from
9:30AM to 12:30PM in room 7.
Please plan to be at St. James by 9:15AM. We want to start
on time. Register on-line.
Go to www.virtus.org and click on the Registration tab, then
follow the prompts. For more information, contact Edna
Erazo at 843-903-0339. Take advantage of this educational
opportunity here at St. James. The class is required for
anyone working with kids, including chaperones. Registered
participants receive a certificate upon completion. There is
no cost for the session.
It is one of the mandatory
components for those having regularly scheduled contact with
minors in the Diocese of Charleston. Register today!
