Counting holes with
Fourier transform
Tamás Hausel
Section de Mathématiques, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne
I will motivate the problem of counting holes on various quaternionic surfaces
by recent developments in theoretical physics. An arithmetic Fourier transform
technique will be discussed and as an application a proof of a conjecture of Kac
from 1982 in the theory of infinite dimensional symmetry groups will be
sketched.
Thursday, April 9, 2015, 9.45 am
Seminar Room Mondi 2, Central building, 1st floor
