Der Standort Niederrhein – das sind die beiden Städte
Krefeld und Mönchengladbach sowie die vier Kreise Kleve,
Viersen, Wesel und Rhein-Kreis Neuss mit insgesamt zwei
Millionen Einwohnern.
Der Standort Niederrhein – das ist ein idealer Logistikstandort zwischen den Beneluxländern und den Ballungsräumen Düsseldorf, Köln und dem Ruhrgebiet.

Logistics are strong in the Niederrhein region
The Niederrhein region – made up of the two cities
Krefeld and Mönchengladbach as well as four districts,
Kleve, Viersen, Wesel and Rhein-Kreis Neuss, with two
million inhabitants overall.
The Niederrhein region – is also an ideal logistics base
situated between the Netherlands and the cities Cologne,
Düsseldorf and the Ruhr region. There are 16 million
people living in the neighbouring regions within a radius
of 100 kilometers. 40 % of the EU population can even be
reached within a day by truck. Everything is very closely
connected thanks to excellent transport links on land, by
water and by air.
The unbeatable location of the region is also one of the
reasons why more than half of the top 20 logistic companies in Germany are present in the Niederrhein region.
Together with the strong export economy, the intelligent
networks in which the logistics sector can flourish with
innovation, the universities and the space available,
logistics in the Niederrhein is a success story. In terms of
size, new premises being set up by companies here have
always been among the top five in Germany and a study
by the Fraunhofer Institute puts the Niederrhein region
among the “champion” logistics locations in Germany,
Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
