In a world peppered with indifference, complacency, and difficult decisions, she offers a unique and fresh perspective regarding leadership, loyalty and living fully. Powerful, engaging and insightful, participants leave her programs with a clear, practical, message about healthy lifestyles—believe in yourself and the value of your life! Harriet pulls no punches and connects with her audiences because she "tells it like it is." As inspiring as her message is, Harriet doesn't give participants unrealistic hope. By reinforcing the concept that we all possess personal power, participants learn that while they might be in charge of their choices, they don't always get to choose the consequences. Learning how to cope with failure and try again are essential and there's nobody better than Harriet Turk to show you how to "Just Deal With It!" Closing Session-Lancaster Motivational Media “Be One” Every person has dreams and visions of how life could be, or should be. We see a better day, that one day. But good life doesn't happen by accident. It is chosen. It is planned for. It is worked for with steady determination. In trying times, young people are rediscovering the value of good decision-making. You cannot make the great decisions on that future one day unless you're making solid decisions every day now. Today's youth face uncertainty, boredom, peer pressure, moral confusion and unhealthy choices. Social-emotional failure means high rates of dropout, drug use, obesity and driving crashes. Their only hope to navigate through this maze of trouble is to cultivate wisdom and make good choices. 2014 PA SADD Conference –7 Springs November 18, 2014 Opening Session—7-Springs Hoan Do Hoan Do is a student success coach, author, and competitor in NBC's hit show, American Ninja Warrior. He's known as someone who is young enough to relate to students yet old enough to share life changing advice. For the past 6 years, Hoan has traveled across North America sharing practical advice that helps students to succeed in and out of school. Through his inspiring story, Hoan will show you that your success is not determined by your age, background, or knowledge but rather by the choices that you make each and every day. By the end of Hoan's keynote, you'll learn how to strengthen your self-image, the importance of pursuing your passions, positive ways to deal with life’s challenges, and a technique that will help you to change your attitude during difficult times. Closing Session –7-Springs Joel Feldman, Esq, MS In 2009 Joel Feldman’s 21-year-old daughter, Casey, was killed by a distracted driver and since then he has worked to change driving attitudes and habits and raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. Feldman and his wife, Dianne Anderson, created The Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation and EndDD.org (End Distracted Driving) is a project of the Foundation. With input from experts at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Feldman developed an interactive, scientifically-guided, evidence-based distracted driving awareness program integrating health communication, behavioral change, and teen-targeted persuasion principles. That program is subjected to periodic rigorous scientific scrutiny by CHOP to evaluate its effectiveness and to inform revisions. By the end of 2014, thanks to Feldman’s leadership, some 250,000 teens and adults will have participated in the program in more than 40 states and Canada with a network of 700 trained volunteer speakers. 2014 PA SADD Conference Registration D Conference Please check which Conference you will be attending: ____Lancaster Eden Resort (Tuesday, November 4, 2014) ____7-Springs Resort (Tuesday, November 18, 2014) SADD Chapter/School: ________________________________________________________________ School Address: ______________________________________________________________________ City/State/Zip: ________________________________________________________________________ Phone Number: (____)____________Advisor’s E-Mail Address: _____________________ Advisor’s Cell Phone Number: (____)____________ Registration Fee is $40.00 per person (Students and Advisors) if received prior to October 20, 2014.
