Thematic forums “Biofuels in the context of the commodity markets and
resource potential” and “Biofuel trade”
International Conference “Fuels of the Future 2015” with different focuses
The 12th International Conference on Biofuels “Fuels of the Future 2015” will be held from 19-20
January 2015 at Berlin’s CityCube. The organizers are again expecting more than 500 international
participants from the areas of automotive production, the oil and chemical industries, the biofuel
production sector, science and research as well as from relevant national and international
authorities and ministries.
Besides many other topics, the conference offers two parallel forums on “Biofuels in the context of
the commodity markets and resource potential" and “Biofuel trade”.
Anselm Eisentraut (International Energy Agency) will talk about the global prospects of biofuel
production in the light of changing political framework conditions. From here, Dr. Klaus-Dieter
Schumacher (BayWa AG) will continue with an examination of the volume and price situation of the
relevant commodities in the global agricultural markets. Is there a price pressure on agricultural
commodities despite biofuel production? Are the processors the ones who benefit? Furthermore,
Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Harald von Witzke (Humboldt University of Berlin) will give an overview of the key
factors influencing the development of the agricultural commodity prices. In a global stocktaking,
Claus Keller (F.O. Licht Commodity Analysis) will then take a closer look at the EU market and its
significance for the global sales of biodiesel and bioethanol.
In a second thematic block, the trade of biofuels will be explored in depth. Roxana Ionici (Platts) will
present the foundations and market indices of the international biodiesel, bioethanol and sugar
markets. Peter Jansen (Mitsui & Co. Deutschland GmbH) will address changes in the European
bioethanol market from physical business to paper business. Vincent Muller (E.Leclerc hypermarkets)
will give an overview of the fuel market in France and talk about its high level of competitiveness.
Use this opportunity to get into touch with more than 500 international participants, to expand your
business network, attend interesting and highly topical presentations and to get introduced to
technological innovations and products in the sponsor booths space. Companies or associations are
invited to set up their stands in the Exhibitor Forum to present themselves to the visitors and to
efficiently promote their engagement in the biofuel sector to a public and targeted audience. For
more information, please see our “Invitation to sponsors”.
