 Title: IT Senior Manager Based: Reston, Virginia Job Summary: Our philosophy when it comes to IT relies on three principles: 1) Each team member is responsible of choosing and maintaining their own smartphone and laptop 2) Scality selects tools with a prime focus on simplicity, mobility and efficiency for our team members, and 3) We rely as much as possible on Cloud services vs. running our own infrastructure and services. The IT Senior Manager will advise internal teams regarding information technology solutions that will enable them perform more effectively and efficiently, and will oversee new systems design, sourcing and/or development. They will also work directly with internal team(s) to make sure new system implementation is completed on time and within budget, and rolled-­‐out effectively. The IT Senior Manager will work on a variety of different projects. Examples may range in scope from migrating to a new collaboration system, to subscribing a new cloud service, or to setting up a new video-­‐conferencing and internet service in an office. Note that the job scope doesn’t include any activity related to Engineering, Services and Support lab environments, which are managed by the respective functional groups. Scality’s current IT environment is composed of the following tools: Gmail, Salesforce.com (administrated directly by Sales Operations at Scality), Box, Confluence, Expensable, an IM server we run ourselves as well as a Single sign-­‐On we run ourselves, etc. The IT Senior Manager will be responsible for planning, evaluation and business rationale for IT projects, and will spend time on the following tasks: • Maintain a “market watch” of the latest innovative solutions and services regarding workforce productivity • Consult with the management team and internal clients to determine needs, document current processes and make recommendations • Advise internal clients regarding IT technology solutions that will make a positive impact on the business • Plan the stages of the project and implementation roadmap, and ensure that there is a positive effect on the business • Create requirements documents, project overviews, and documentation for IT development projects • Coordinate the project (virtual) team (and possibly sub-­‐contractors) • Agreement on the costs, timelines, and standards to be met; and monitoring these throughout the project SCALITY FACTS Headquarters: 50 California St Suite 3200 San Francisco, CA 94111 USA Founded: 2009 Employees: 90 Reference Customers: Comcast, Dailymotion, Los Alamos National Laboratory, SFR, Time Warner Cable, Orange, Deluxe, QVC, Time Warner Cable. Ensure there is a smooth transition from the old to the “new” system K Keep management and clients updated on progress Evaluate each stage of a project as well as after completion Though the job responsibilities do not include executing all technical aspects of a given project, the candidate must be technically competent to guide the process of evaluation and implementation. Though not always a primary responsibility, the IT Senior Manager should be able to assist internal users with technical problems. The organizational environment is challenging as processes are evolving, tools are changing fast (and moving to the cloud) and employees bring, and to a limited extent, support their own computing device. The reward for the candidate is that they can really make a difference and positively impact the business. To that end, the IT Senior Manager position reports directly to the COO, which will ensure quick decisions on projects and strong executive support. The job is located in Reston, Virginia where our America’s Customer Services Director will be a day-­‐to-­‐day mentor.
