POWER SYSTEM Pacific DC Intertie (PDCI) Upgrade Outage / De-rate Schedule 2014-2016 Version No. 7 Effective Date: 01/9/2015 Introduction The upcoming scheduled outages due to major upgrades on the Pacific DC Intertie (PDCI) will result in reduced available capacity on the line during various periods from 2014 to 2016. Most of the upgrades are convertor station and line work by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to modernize its infrastructure at the Celilo Converter Station, which is the northern terminal of the PDCI. Other work will be performed by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) in conjunction with the upgrades. From September 29, 2014 to November 16, 2014, the Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 3 1000kV Line and Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 4 1000kV Line will be removed from service and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)]. 1 Outages highlighted in yellow are yet to be confirmed with BPA. The scheduling capacity of 3220MW is not the scheduling capacity at NOB which is used by LADWP for the PDCI. It will be determined and revised at a later time 2 Page 2 of 3 POWER SYSTEM Pacific DC Intertie (PDCI) Upgrade Outage / De-rate Schedule 2014-2016 Version No. 7 Effective Date: 01/9/2015 For January 9, 2015 to January 11, 2015, the Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 3 1000kV Line and Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 4 1000kV Line will be de‐rated and the PDCI will be available for 957MW (N‐S) and 905MW (S‐N) for HE6‐ HE19 each day. The PDCI will be unavailable [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)] from HE5‐HE6 and HE19‐HE20 each day from January 9, 2015 to January 11, 2015 due to switching out from bi‐pole/mono‐pole operation. The PDCI will be in bi‐pole operation and will be available for 1956MW (N‐S) and 976MW (S‐ N) from January 9, 2015 HE20 to January 10, 2015 HE5 and January 10, 2015 HE20 to January 11, 2015 HE5. From February 9, 2015 to February 22, 2015, the Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 3 1000kV and Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 4 1000kV Line will be out and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)]. From June 27, 2015 to June 28, 2015, Sylmar CS Converter 1 & Converter 2 will be going through a terminal wash and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)]. From September 11, 2015 to October 16, 2015, the Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 3 1000kV Line and Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 4 1000kV Line will undergo maintenance and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)]. From November 3, 2015 to December 21, 2015, the Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 3 1000kV Line and Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 4 1000kV Line will be removed from service and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)]. From June 25, 2016 to June 26, 2016, Sylmar CS Converter 1 & Converter 2 will be going through a terminal wash and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)]. From September 16, 2016 to October 16, 2016, the Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 3 1000kV Line and Celilo‐Sylmar Pole 4 1000kV Line will undergo maintenance and the PDCI will not be available [0MW (N‐S) and 0MW (S‐N)].
