Year 6 Takeover Day!
On Friday 21st November we held Takeover day where
the Year 6 pupils took over the staff roles within the
school for a short time!
They took over teaching,
office work, caretaking
and the leadership of
the school.
The picture shows our
Headteacher, and
Deputy Head.

th
Thursday 18 December is our Christmas Lunch
day and Christmas Dress Up day! Children can come to
school in their Christmas Jumper or in any Christmassy
outfit! Silver donations may be made to ‘Meningitis Now’.
World War 1 Football Match
Children from KS2 took part in a
Football Match as a re-enactment
of the Christmas Day Truce during
World War One. As you can
see they got a little bit muddy!
Where’s Wally?!
Our art week, in the first week back after
Christmas, will involve ‘Where’s Wally?’ linking in
with various different artists. To finish off the
week, there will be a Where’s Wally
dressing up day on Friday 9th January and
we would love as many children as possible
to come to school dressed as Wally!
World War 1 Exhibition
Children and staff worked hard
to produce a wonderful display
for our What Price Peace?
Exhibition. The Display boards
then went ‘on the road’ to
Sainsburys for a short while!

Countryfile on BBC
It was great to see our local
area and our school represented
on BBC’s Countryfile
last week. The children
were shown fossil hunting
at Pett Beach along with
presenter Helen Skelton.
Children In Need
Fundraising for Gambia
Well done to Yvie in Year 4 who, helped by
her mum and sister, has raised £110 for our
link school in Gambia by selling home made
fudge at festivals and fairs over the summer.
The school will use the money to buy new ICT
equipment.
The Burrow
We were lucky enough to
have a visit from Pudsey Bear
last week who came to the
school to collect a cheque
for Children in Need for £205
which was raised through
donations, and the proceeds
from the school disco.
The Burrow is our new
Facility for holding
Nurture Groups and other
small group meetings. It
can be found on the field,
just behind the swimming
pool.
Guestling’s Got Talent
Nativity Play
A huge ‘WELL DONE’ to all the children who participated in the
Guestling’s Got Talent Show on Friday 12th December. There was
singing, dancing, jokes, impressions, music…. A fantastic show!
It took a lot of courage to stand up and perform and
they were all stars!
Hofesh Shechter Dance
A few students went
to Helenswood
School and took part
in a Workshop run by
Hofesh Shechter, an
internationally
renowned
Contemporary Dance
Company.
The KS1 children gave a beautiful
performance of ‘A Little Nativity’. They
worked really hard and put on three
wonderful performances. Thank you also
to all the parents for the brilliant
costumes and to all the staff for their
hard work.
