SKILL TRAINING
At Jindal Stainless Limited our CSR Philosophy is to address key social developmental issues and
encourage all stakeholders to get engaged through focused sustainable interventions with the aim of
achieving the overall vision of becoming a Socially Responsible Corporate.
Skill development of the marginalized youth in the plant peripheral areas in locations across India has
been a major focus area of CSR interventions. The Jindal Institute of Industrial Training (JIITs) close to
our Plant locations at Hisar (Haryana), Jajpur (Orissa) and Vizag (Vishakhapatnam) have been providing
rural and semi
‐urban youth various industry specific skill based trainings. They include Computer
Hardware and Networking, Computer Software, Industrial Electronics, Stainless Steel Fabrication and
Welding, Dress Designing, Beauty Culture and Fashion Technology Beauty Culture and Hospitality. Each
year the Institutes train over 600 rural youth and assists them in job placements.
The main aim of the Skill Training program has been to provide employable skills and opportunities to
rural youth. A study that we conducted in year 2010 in Jajpur (Orissa) revealed that there was a growing
opportunity in the industry for skilled youth. But on the other hand there was a huge gap in the skill
levels of the youth and the industry requirement. Keeping this in mind the courses given at Jindal
Institute of Industrial training were re-worked on and improved to facilitate the youth in getting skill and
better opportunities.
The trainings are provided at the Jindal Institute of Industrial Training located at Orissa and Haryana.

Jindal Stainless Limited Training infrastructure and Training Program
The Institutes have modern training infrastructure and experienced instructors who individually mentor
the students. The trainees are also taken for exposure visits to Industrial units for firsthand experience
and undertake well developed Modular Employable Skill courses under NCVT certified by The Ministry of
Labour & Employment, Government of India. A stainless steel application course has been developed in
partnership with IGNOU and the Govt. of Haryana and being implemented through the community
college initiative in Manesar (Haryana).
