Decision in the matter of Fabian Tandberg
This matter relates to an incident at half time in the match between Ruislip Eagles and
Manchester HC played on 13th December 2014. This incident was reported to the EHA by
the Referee. The Referee’s report details that Mr Tandberg made an inappropriate comment
towards the Referee, effectively questioning his ability to officiate the game.
While in my view this is not Misconduct which should attract a sanction, I would like to take
this opportunity to remind Mr Tandberg of his obligations as a player and to inform him that if
he has future concerns regarding officials to raise these with the EHA via his club through
the formal channels. Comments of this nature are not helpful and contribute to an
unpleasant atmosphere at matches.
In the event of future Misconduct of a similar nature by Mr Tandberg I reserve the right to
present this letter to the decision making body in that case. It may be considered an
aggravating factor that Mr Tandberg has been warned with regards to comments about
and/or towards officials.
