Full scale sea trial at EMEC - Orkney Scotland
– Ocean ERA net
EMEC, TFI, UGent and Laminaria will join forces in 2015 to execute a project based
around WEC moorings.
o EMEC will provide the testsite, environmental data, monitoring, ... .
o TFI will provide expertise on mooring systems and develop a mooring protection
device specifically for WEC’s.
o UGent will provide knowledge on and advice on fatigue effcts and on the PTO
components.
o Laminaria will provide the WEC around which the tests are based and will develop a
mooring system with build-in stormprotection system.
