NECARBO a member of Safic-Alcan group Products for the coating industry 2014 Oliver Nachtsheim March 2014 History 1965 Pieter Schoen, one of the biggest Dutch paint manufacturers, founded NECARBO (Nederlandse Carbon Black) as a raw material supplier for their daughter companies and licensees. 1972 Pieter Schoen (1722), Varrossieau (1795) and, Vettewinkel (1809) merged together under the name Sigma Coatings. NECARBO grew together with the Sigma Coatings Group as an important distributor of raw materials. 1975 The brands Nebores® and Nebochips® are established, coating resins and pigment preparations coming from the captive production facility of the Group. Safic-Alcan founded 1847 acquires Göbel & Pfrengle and expanded his German rubber market share, paralell to other european subsidiary companies 1989 Nebopolymers was founded and Neboplast® and Nebotint® were added to the portfolio. Safic Alcan Deutschland GmbH will be the new company name 1998 Göbel & Pfrengle GmbH is founded as an rawmaterial supplier for the rubber industry 2012 Safic-Alcan acquires Necarbo and expanded his market share at the German coatings market. This is many times higher than that of the ortophosphate ion (PO43-) utilized in the corrosion inhibition mechanism of zinc phosphate pigment. Tri-polyphosphate ion (P3O105+) sequesters iron ion (Fe3+), then forms a polyphosphate passivation film as (Fe3+AL3+) X (P3O10) with excellent corrosion inhibiting property on the coated surface. Then they will be extracted in reverse flow with hexane. • The mixture will be destilled, reduced and with direct steam under vakuum cleaned from solvents. • These raw linseed oil contains appr. 2 % Lecithine, will be heated to 70–90 °C and mixed up with 1–4 % Water. • The Lecithine swells, and drop out in form of a collodial mass which will be disconnected from raw oil by centrifugal. • The collodial mass will be water reduced via thin film vaporizer. Wow we have Raw-lecitine, wich contains 60–70 % polar Lipides and 27–37 % Sojabean oil. Amount of water is now 0.5–1.5 %. • Main ingrediant of Raw lecithine are: Phospholipide (Phosphatide),Triglyceride, Glycolipide and Carbohydrate. Minor components are: Sterine, fatty acids, dyes, and a few other components. Chemical constitution Lecithine contains to the goup of Phosphoglycerids. These compounds build together with Glycerol and two fatty acids a Dicarbon acid ester. These part of the Phosphoglycerids correlates to the structure of normal fatty. The third OH-Group of Glycerine build together with an other PhosphatIon a Di-Phosphor acid ester; On one side with Glycerine on the other side with a functionaly group X. Group X in case of Lecithin ist Choline a quarternary Ammonium conjunction. Cholin weares a positive kationic load. The phosphaticgroupe will be still there in a wide pH-range as an Anion and wears a negative load. Consequently we can name Lecithin as a hybrideionen or rather. Interior salts. • Tensid-Oil drop in Water • Liposom in Water Overview Dispersing Agents Chemically / physically properties Because of their construction Lecithin has the propertie to operate like a Tensid: One part of the molecule is polar (hydrophilic), the other part is nonpolar (hydrophobe). Means they are amphiphile, and able to reduce interface tensions between different substances. These enable the mixing of liquids wich are nomally not mixable like water and oil. Also suspensions of Particel in waterborne phase. Lecithin act therefor as an emulsifier or dispersing agent. Back to product overview Entschäumer Dispersing Agents Nebosperse A Type: Ammonium salt of a low molecular polyacrylic acid. Fields of application: Dispersing agent for inorganic pigments and fillers in aqueuos systems. Characteristics: Due to its excellent wetting effects NEBOSPERSE A makes the preparation of pastes of inorganic pigments and fillers with water much easier. It improves the storage stability of high-pigmented dispersion paints and coatings so that a thickening can be avoided. NEBOSPERSE A may be diluted with any quantity of water. Shortterm freezing does not affect its dispersing effects. Dosage: NEBOSPERSE A had to be added in ranges between 0.5 and 1.5% relating to the filler/pigmentmixture. You can use this dispersing agent at a pH-value betweeen 7.5-10. In combination with polyphosphates its wetting capacity may be improved considerably. The recommended quantity of polyphosphate to be added is stipulated at approx. 0.2%, as related to the filler/pigmentcombination. The dispersing and stabilizing effects of NEBOSPERSE A are independent of the wide range of binders used in dispersion paints. Specifications: Viscosity at 20°C (DIN 53788) 60 – 120 mPa.s (Haake Rotovisco RV 20 , MS:MV-DIN) Solid content (DIN 53189) 30% ± 1 pH (DIN 51785) 7.8 ± 0,5 Specific gravity (DIN 51757) 1.12 g/ml Ionicity anionic General: Under normal storage conditions (10 - 20 °C) Nebosperse A may be stored for at least 1 year.
