UV-Enhanced Aluminum
Aluminum-coated mirrors are costeffective and offered in a variety of sizes.
A protective overcoat is layered over the
aluminum to make it oxidation resistant.
Our UV-Enhanced coating is made by
using an overcoat of MgF2 that increases
the average reflectance to over 90% from
250 to 450 nm.
Protected Aluminum
For an inexpensive solution and general
broadband use, a protected aluminumcoated mirror is the best option. A
protective layer of SiO, which has a
minimal effect on the reflectance of the
mirror, is applied to the delicate aluminum
coating to make it suitable for laboratory
and industrial use.
