The main reason for the overall decline is to be found in a horrible year for Danish Contractors, where the companies have adapted a more risk adverse strategy focusing more on the home market. The bankruptcy of a large contractor in 2013 and lengthy procedures by public entities to approve new projects have also played a major role in the disappointing figures. Danish architects and consulting engineers have fared better in 2013. The figures for the Danish architects are somewhat misleading. The Danish architects are as busy as ever on international projects, but the turnover this year is based on reports from fewer companies compared to previous ones. This combined with an increase in payment time on projects has resulted in a lower turnover. Danish consulting engineers continue their growth on the international market and increased their turnover by 4 percent from 2012 to 2013. About the Export Profile The aim of the Export Profile is to show the extent of international work and projects.
