Alumni football game draws players spanning
22 years
Crimson Knights will host Warriors alumni on Saturday, Oct. 18, under the lights
By Len Bardsley
WALL — The first annual Wall and Manasquan alumni football game is gaining traction with both teams filling out rosters
with players anxious to put the pads back on.
The Crimson Knights will host the Warriors on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Wall American Youth Football complex at 7 p.m.
A total of 60 players have signed up and have been practicing and training to prepare for the game.
The game has been organized by Alumni Football USA.
The company charges each player $100 for equipment and insurance.

The Wall and Manasquan game has been organized by Matt Malleo, a 2004 graduate of Wall High
School, and Eddie Kapalko, a 2011 Manasquan graduate.
Alumni from both schools have caught the spirit, with alumni band and cheerleaders putting
together squads for the game, as well.
Melissa Voskian is putting together the Warrior alumni cheerleaders and Ian Gray is in charge of
the Manasquan band, while Sara DeCuir is organizing the Crimson Knight alumni band and
Colette Dusko Smith is organizing the Wall alumni cheerleaders.

The event is a charity event with will benefit the Wall American Youth Football [AYF] program —
a percentage of ticket sales, concessions and raffle will go toward the Wall AYF.
The Manasquan roster is younger than the roster of Wall.
The Warriors have a few players who played significant roles in memorable games against Wall.
Mike LaSala, who was the quarterback for Manasquan during a wild 42-35 overtime win against
Wall in 2008, will once again be quarterback for the Warriors.
Jack Cuttrell, who graduated in 2011 and ran back a fumble for a touchdown for the Warriors
against Wall in 2010, will be on the Manasquan defensive line.
The Manasquan roster features 14 players who graduated in 2010 or later.
The Crimson Knights might have a slightly older roster than Manasquan, but does feature a few big names who played
significant college football.
Wall has five players who graduated in 2010 or later, and 21 players who graduated in 2005 or earlier.
Chris Malleo, who graduated in 2002, will quarterback the Crimson Knights.
Malleo will probably be handing off to Blaze Caponegro, a 2009 graduate. Caponegro had an epic game against the
Warriors in 2008, gaining over 300 yards in the 42-35 loss.
Caponegro, who played linebacker for Temple University, most recently put on the pads for the Philadelphia Eagles during
a rookie camp in April.
The Wall team will also feature Tim Kukucka, a 2006 graduate who had a standout career at Villanova University as a
defensive lineman.
