Stefan Grothe, born in the year 1973, completed his engineering degree in the field of environmental
technology and computer science. Previously he finished his apprenticeship as an electrician and worked
for different companies in this field.
After this time he moved into the wind energy sector and worked for different companies in the field of
service and maintenance for wind energy turbines. He was also involved in a project, carried out by the
German Association for Technical Cooperation (GTZ). This Project has offered trainings and workshops for
technicians, who will work in this field in the future. Additionally he worked for an operator and was
responsible for the technical support of wind parks and for creating expert reports. Since 2008 he has been
working for the German wind energy association (BWE) as a technical advisor.
