Invitation
「World Coffee Leaders Forum」, the first international coffee forum in Asia, was held for the first time in November
2012, in Seoul, Korea. By becoming the first international coffee forum officially supported by International Coffee
Organization (ICO), its mission is to seek solutions for sustainable development by discussing and sharing world
coffee industry issues and challenges.
The world coffee industry is currently facing new challenges as the industry undergoes change. The coffee industry
which began from Europe, expanding to areas of North & South America is now focusing on Asia market, where
production and consumption is increasing at the same. The economic development of the coffee industry in Asia
is steadily increasing both quantitatively as well as qualitatively. The Asian Coffee Market has gained the world's
attention due to its potential.
Asian coffee producing and consuming countries are contributing values to facilitate dynamic communication
between producers and consumers across countries and continents. The Asian market holds an increasingly
important position within the overall world coffee market, and its expanding role becomes the responsibility of
leading trends, development, and overcoming crisis of the world coffee industry.
「The 3rd World Coffee Leaders Forum 2014」 will examine and discuss further in-depth topics of the World and Asian
Coffee Industry, and expects to attract more than 1,200 participants from 35 countries.
WCLF 2014 invites knowledgeable leaders from a variety of disciplines, who can share their perspectives on the
future of global coffee industry and address paradigm shifts in the coffee industry and its countermeasures. Plenary
session will present the changes in each different realm in coffee industry such as specialty coffee, roastery cafe,
espresso market, supply chain, instant coffee, franchise coffee market etc.
With a variety of plenary sessions and technical sessions available, along with other concurrent events, WCLF 2014
is ready to welcome you. Multiple networking programs such as Welcome Reception, B2B business meeting, Coffee
Business Tour, etc. are all available for participation. In addition, WCLF 2014 is the official concurrent event of 13th
Seoul Int’l Cafe Show 2014, where 600 companies (1,500 booths) exhibit from 50 countries and
expects to attract more than 120,000 visitors from 65 countries. These many events assure that
World Coffee Leaders Forum will become a representative world coffee industry festival.

Coffee Industry is heading on to its 4th wave from the 3rd wave. There are various presumptions on ‘how the 4th wave will
approach us’.
On the basis of incessant potentiality of coffee, the paradigm that determines the world coffee industry is changing due to various
factors: the barista and the creativity of technology (machinery), the development of transparency of negotiation between the grower
and the consumer, the creation of emerging cultural trends and values that are not just limited to coffee.

Coex, the venue of World Coffee Leaders Forum is a business and cultural hub located in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul’s business district. It is a popular
entertainment destination in Seoul for both domestic and foreign visitors, and welcomes an average of 150,000 people a day. Asia’s largest underground
