Angola License Round 2013/14 Onshore LowerCongo: Locationof BlockCON1 Block CON 1 Overview The onshore Lower Congo Basin is located in the northwest corner of Angola. Block CON 1 is located in the northwest part of this onshore basin. Block CON 1 has an area of 755 Km² and it borders the River Congo to the north, Block CON 2 and Block CON 4 to the east on longitude 12° 37’ 53’’, Block CON 6 to the south on latitude 6° 26’ 39’’, the coastline and the Somoil “Concession A” border to the west. Block CON 1 was previously explored during the 1960s and 1970s when important discoveries were made in the west. The available well data highlights the presence of hydrocarbon shows in both pre-salt and post-salt intervals. Cabeça da Cobra Field 20 Km Localsetting The Cretaceous syn-rift and post-rift phases are the principal tectonic stages recognised within this block. These phases were followed by the development a gentle westward dipping margin during the Tertiary. 2008/10 seismic 10 Km Schematiccrosssection W E Malembo Upper Cretaceous Loeme Upper Bucomazi Lucula Landana Albian Chela Lower Bucomazi Basement –1– 10 Km Angola License Round 2013/14 Lead 1 – Post-salt (Cretaceous) and Pre-salt This is a post-salt low relief, salt induced, faulted rollover anticline. The lead is situated immediately to the north and on the same structural trend as the Cabeça da Cobra Field which proves an effective hydrocarbon charge in the area. The upper and lower dolomitic interval of the Pinda Formation (Fm) provide the reservoirs which are sealed by overlying Pinda Fm shale unit and intraformational shales. The pre-salt potential may also be tested at this location. The presence of Chela Member (Mb) sandstones in this stratigraphic pinch out trap against a tilted fault block is suggested by the seismic reflections below the salt seal. Lead 2 – Pre-salt Two potential leads are identified lying along the successful N-S oil trend in the post-salt Pinda Fm but here targets the deeper pre-salt intervals. The presence of pre-salt Chela Mb reservoir pinching out to the west in tilted fault blocks is suggested by the seismic data. The seal is provided by the Loeme salt draping the pre-salt sediments. The updip well Luculo-1 encountered pre-salt Chela Mb reservoir with hydrocarbon shows indicating lateral migration was effective from the west where the pre-salt source rocks of the Bucomazi Mb are present in the main source rock kitchen area. Lead 3 – Post-salt This four-way dip closure in post-salt sediments is found in the eastern part of Block CON 1. Reservoirs may exist in several intervals, including Albian Pinda Fm dolomites. These would be sealed by the overlaying Pinda Fm shale unit and intraformational shales, and sourced pre-salt sources. The pre-salt may also be tested at this location as possible Chela Mb sandstones are folded in the same manner as the overlaying post-salt sediments. –1– Angola License Round 2013/14 10 Km Lead 1 10 Km Lead 2 Lead 3 10 Km –1– Angola License Round 2013/14 Onshore Congo Basin – Data Available 2008/10 2D seismic lines available: Line Name Total Length (Km) Line Name Total Length (Km) Line Name Total Length (Km) Line Name Total Length (Km) lco-01 lco-02-1 lco-02-2 lco-03-1 lco-03-2 lco-04-1 lco-04-2 lco-05-1 lco-05-2 lco-06 lco-07 lco-08 lco-08-1 lco-08-2 lco-0802 lco-0803 17.6 12.3 8.7 16.7 10.1 22.9 8.0 12.9 20.0 34.4 23.8 8.5 8.5 8.0 29.0 9.8 co-0804 lco-0805 lco-0807 lco-0808 lco-0809 lco-0810 lco-0811 lco-0812 lco-0813 lco-0814 lco-0815 lco-0816 lco-0817 lco-0818 lco-0819 lco-0820 11.3 23.2 23.2 20.2 19.5 17.6 17.5 17.1 14.1 34.9 21.5 37.1 39.0 23.3 15.9 20.5 lco-0821 lco-0822 lco-10-01 lco-10-02 lco-10-03 lco-10-04 lco-10-05 lco-10-06 lco-10-07 lco-10-08 lco-10-09 lco-10-1 lco-10-10 lco-10-11 lco-10-12 lco-10-13 23.5 11.0 36.1 34.3 33.0 58.2 26.7 20.5 22.5 43.0 42.8 15.4 33.9 35.7 48.5 33.2 lco-10-14 lco-10-15 lco-10-16 lco-10-17 lco-10-18 lco-10-19 lco-10-2 lco-10-20 lco-10-21 lco-10-23 lco-10-24 lco-10-25 lco-10-26 lco-10-27 lco-10-28 38.7 43.7 25.9 21.5 35.2 29.5 19.4 55.4 52.8 18.5 24.9 29.7 40.8 53.6 56.6 Reports available: Regional Report Onshore Lower Congo CON 1 Block Report CON 5 Block Report CON 6 Block Report
