Connect the DVR to the gateway router/modem. A gateway router is a node in a network that serves as a doorway to the network. If there are other routers in the network, they are called "sub" routers. The DVR must be connected to the main gateway router only. DiscoveranIPaddress
From a PC within the network, go to the Common Prompt. ¾

For Windows 8, press Windows Key + Q and enter "cmd", and then press enter. For Windows 7 and XP, click Start, click Run, type "cmd" and press enter. In the Common Prompt, type "ipconfig" and press enter. Note the Default Gateway and Subnet Mask. SettinguptheDVR

Right‐click on the mouse. Click on "DVR Menu", then "Network Setup". Click on "Network Type Setup". Change Network type to "STATIC" and enter the details such as Port, IP Address, and Gateway. ¾
Enter the Subnet Mask and Gateway (obtained earlier from Command Prompt) ¾
Enter the IP Address. The IP Address must be within the same subnet. The first three digits must be the same as the Default Gateway (obtained from Discover an IP address section). For this example, we will be assigning the IP Address as 192.168.1.200, and using default port 80. It is highly recommended NOT to use port 80 as it is very common. Right‐click twice to exit the menu and follow the on‐screen prompt to reboot the DVR. TestinglocalconnectionfromIE
Launch Internet Explorer, and type in "h p://192.168.1.200:80" (localIP:port). Press enter. If successful, that means local connection is established, then you can start doing the external configuration. Openingtheportonthegatewayrouter/modem
Always refer to the manufacturer manual on portfowarding or go to the following URL for assistance. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding For this guide, we will use a Netgear DGND3700 Router. Launch Internet Explorer and type in the address bar 192.168.0.1 (default router IP). When prompted, enter "admin" in User Name and "password" in the Password fields. Click on Port Forwarding link on the left column menu. Click on Add New Rule button at the centre of the page. Select Custom Rule on top of the page. In the Custom Rule box, enter the Service Name as "DVR", select Service Type as "TCP/UDP", Starting Port and Ending Port as "80", and Server IP Address as "192.168.1.200". Click Apply. Launch Internet Explorer and type in the address bar "canyouseeme.org" without the quotes, then press Enter. In the text box next to Port to Check, enter the port number to check. In this case, enter "80", then click on Check Port button. If configured properly, the following message should appear on top: Success: I can see your service on 203.206.171.049on port (80)
Your ISP is not blocking port 80
Note: the IP address on canyouseeme.org website is different from the local network. This IP is an external IP address (given by your Internet Service Provider). RemoteviewingfromPC
Using Remote Viewing Software (RAMS) Download Remote Viewing Software (RAMS) from the following link: h p://www.secusafe.com.au/Ar cleShow.asp?Ar cleID=193#4 Install RAMS on the PC and launch the software. Click on "Connect" button on RAMS. Fill in the details such as DVR Name, DVR Address, Port, and DVR password (111111). Note: the local IP address 192.168.1.200 is used to connect the DVR within the network. When logging in from a remote location, an external IP address must be entered into DVR Address. You can obtain the external IP address from here: http://www.whatismyip.com/
Press Connect. If successful, you should see the DVR channels on the main page. RemoteconnectionfromSmartphones
Search "Unimo" in the iPhone App store, or Google Play Store on an android. Download and install a‐RAMS unimocnc app. Launch the app and Add the DVR by filling in the DVR Name, IP Address, Port, ID, and Password. iPhone Android Note: the local IP address 192.168.1.200 is used to connect the DVR within the same network (smartphone must be connected to the Default Gateway via wi‐fi). When logging in from a remote location, an external IP address must be entered into IP Address.
