WITSA Elects New Leadership for the 2014-16 Term
Fairfax, Virginia: At its General Assembly and Board of Directors meetings on September 28, the World
Information Technology and services Alliance (WITSA) voted on a new slate of leaders for the 2014-16
term.
WITSA Chairman Santiago Gutierrez was re-elected for the new 2014-16 term while Mr. Roger
Latchman of the IT Association of South Africa was elected Deputy Chairman. Mr. Latchman had
previously served as WITSA Vice Chairman for Africa.
Eng. Tarek A. Monem Taha of the Egyptian Information Technology, Electronics and Software Alliance
(EITESAL) was elected Treasurer of the organization for the new two-year term.
The Alliance also voted and elected new regional Vice Chairmen for Africa, Middle East and North
Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and the Caribbean as well as Chairmen for WITSA's key
standing committees: The Global Policy Action Committee, Global Trade Committee, Finance and
Compensation Committee and Audit Committee.
A total of 27 new Directors were elected by members at the General Assembly.
"I am extremely honored and appreciative of the support I received from our members by being
unanimously re-elected for the new two-year term as Chairman of this unique, global alliance of IT
industry associations", said Mr. Santiago Gutierrez. ""I am very excited to be granted this opportunity to
lead this great organization for another two year, with a focus on maximizing membership value, and
further enhancing WITSA's role and positioning as the global voice of the ICT industry", continued Mr.
Gutierrez.
"I am humbled and at the same time delighted that the Board had the confidence in me to support the
WITSA Board and Mr Santiago Gutierrez as the Deputy Chairman", replied Mr. Roger Latchman. "I
foresee the next two years as working with the WITSA leadership to help expand the reach of our global
alliances to spread the opportunities and benefits that only WITSA can provide", continued Mr.
Latchman.
