A WORKSHOP FOR EARLY
INTERVENTION IN EATING DISORDERS
EDV has been licensed to present
this workshop which is based
on the Eating Disorders First Aid
Guidelines (2008). It covers:
•types of eating disorders
•risk factors
•warning signs
•treatment options
•how to approach and assist
someone who may be
developing or is experiencing
an eating disorder
It is a program designed to
increase mental health literacy and
is designed for people who do
not have professional experience
in eating disorders but who work
with those at risk. It is relevant
for professionals such as youth/
community/welfare workers; school
staff; sport and fitness professionals;
coaches; managers; team leaders
and a range of other professionals.
It is also appropriate for parents,
friends and work colleagues.
Eating Disorders Victoria has been licensed to
present this workshop on behalf of the authors,
Dr Laura M Hart, Professor Anthony F Jorm and
Professor Susan J Paxton.
