Step 1:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2014-15 COURSE REQUESTS
Step 1: Complete the Course Request Form/CRF
1. On your CRF form select 15 classes for the 2014-15 school year. Discuss your options with your
parents and obtain teacher input as needed. Resources such as the course catalog, PUSD graduation
requirements and UC/CSU a-g college entrance requirements can be found at
www.delnortenighthawks.com, under Counseling.
2. Choose courses for each academic area in addition to PE, off roll and electives. Place an X in the
course checkbox and indicate the number of classes in the “Class Total” box. When all courses are
chosen, the total number of classes must equal 15. This includes all electives and off roll.
3. If taking any honors or AP courses, obtain teacher initials on CRF.
4. Please select courses carefully. Remember you are choosing courses for your entire 2014-15 school
year. We create the number of sections for each course based on your requests. Future change requests
may not be possible.

 Academic Tutor: max of 2 tri/10 credits, 10-12th, 3.0 or higher GPA preferred

◦ Physical Education
 After completion of ENS 1-2-3, Marching PE/ENS 1-2, or Tall Flags PE/ENS 1-2
you will need two additional PE classes (10 PE credits)
 10-12th you can continue to take PE classes beyond required amount & up to
20 additional PE credits will go toward elective credits for graduation (up to
total of 40 credits). So take extra PE! It is great for your mind and body!
 Selections titled “Advanced” are intended for student athletes participating on
that team @ DNHS.
Off Roll for Seniors

Seniors may take two off roll in a trimester if they meet all of
the following criteria:
◦ Overall academic GPA of 2.5 or higher
◦ Have 190 credits or more credits at end of 11 th
◦ Passed CAHSEE Math and English
◦ No F’s earned in previous trimester
◦ Must complete 11 classes in senior year. A PUSD Virtual Course cannot count as
one of the 11 courses.
◦ Cannot drop an AP seminar class

Athletes
◦ Caution: If you take 3 classes in a trimester and earn an F or I (Incomplete) in
one class at the 6-week progress, or end of trimester grading period, you will be
automatically ineligible/not able to play your sport!
◦ Interested in participating in intercollegiate athletics (DI and DII) in college? Be
sure to complete 16 required courses by end of senior year for NCAA eligibility.

Counselors strongly recommend you continue with academic
rigor for college readiness:
◦ Take English, Social Science, Math and Lab Science in your senior year!!
◦ Expand on your areas of interest by exploring additional electives!!
