Instructional Services, Educator Licensing and the Language & Culture Centers Present: Residency In Teacher Education RITE—ESL English As A Second Language Providing Professionals With A Personalized Learning Program PURPOSE The RITE program provides an alternative pathway for licensing teachers in the State of Wisconsin in teacher shortage areas. The RITE program can certify Initial Educators, as well as currently licensed teachers in English as a Second Language (ESL). WHAT IS “RITE?” Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction approved alternative licensing program Formal instruction in: planning and delivery of effective instructional practices, assessment of student progress and classroom management In the classroom experience and support with mentoring by school district personnel and CESA 6 RITE Supervisors RITE PROGRAM TUITION 1—Year Program—$7,000 Program length is dependent on education and experience and will be determined by the RITE Coordinator Candidates are responsible for additional fees such as textbooks and test fees. Initial licensure candidates must complete the online edTPA portfolio.
