It can be said that it matches the test method of EU • • • ≒ IEC 62209-2 ≠ US FCC Are regulations of simultaneous transmissions not the same? Are radio equipment to be certified not the same? (The concept of certification ordinance is different from the scope of IEC 62209-2 ) For detailed handling method, a guideline will be created at Registered Certification Body Council, ICCJ, etc.. DSP Research Inc. 3 MIC Test Procedure Test Procedure as described in the notice to be effective on 2014.4.1 Details of how to decide the mode to be tested is not described For a detailed test procedure, a guideline will be created at the committee of RCB Council. ICCJ, etc.. ≒ IEC 62209-2 ≠ US FCC Standards of eliminating the test are currently under consideration. Limits Human body except the limb and a human head : 2W/kg The limbs : 4W/kg DSP Research Inc. 10 Exception Exception (Same idea as EU) If the average power of radio waves emitted is 20mW or less Object radio equipment Radio equipment used more than 20cm from the human body Digital Cordless Telephone PHS Low Power Data Communication System To confirm the state that is normally used in writing to be submitted for certification at the time of application. There is no provision of the separation distance of the antenna. Simultaneous transmission is determined by the method described below. Distance to the antenna end surface from the bottom X cm Front view Figure3. general use state (SAR shall be measured in this situation) Figure 2. Antenna position (red frame) DSP Research Inc. 12 JP Case Study(A study on Simultaneous transmission ) - Tablet/Pad ,10x15x0.9cm, with 3GPP, Wireless LAN & BT Edge 1 WLAN 18cm 15cm Edge 2 Edge 4 The measurement side is not set up yet Follows normal usage listed in the user’s manual 10cm Six sides must be measured if not mentioned 3GPP Bluetooth Edge 3 Simultaneous transmission is to be measured by the following methods. Method 1 Evaluation by sum of Maximum SAR Value : Easiest way, but most intensive. Method 2 Evaluation by selecting the highest SAR value : In case each result you get from Method 1 are not similar, it will give you the accurate estimate value. This is a method of using the largest SAR value If a certain SAR level is less than 5% of the largest SAR value., use the largest SAR value. Method 3 Evaluation by Three-Dimensional calculation SAR data Method 4 Evaluation by Three-Dimensional scanning Above method is the same method as the EU. DSP Research Inc. 13 Measurement side and the number of measurement Aspects to carry out measurement will usually be decided upon submission of documentation for a construction design certification application. About the number of measurement, sometimes may exceed several hundred times or more depending on the frequency (band), modulation method, and the used bandwidth, however guidance is expected to be made in future by Registered Certification Body and ICCJ. DSP Research Inc. 14 Module and SAR Certification, including SAR, is possible for equipment (chassis & modules) with a defined antenna position. ~ such as USB dongle In cases where the module can not be certified with SAR : Guide lines should be established for follow up the utilized method with the test results of equipment which has been already certified. DSP Research Inc. 15 Future issues in the measurement For efficiency of the measurement, it should be made a standard such as SPLSR of the FCC in future (SAR1 + SAR2)1.5 /R ≤ 0.04 Sum SAR (W/Kg) 3.2 2.8 2.4 2 1.6 1.4 1.2 1.0 0.8 Minimum Separation 143 mm 117 mm 93 mm 71 mm 51 mm 41 mm 33 mm 25 mm 18 mm DSP Research Inc. 16 Summary of Certification Radio Equipment to be certified WWAN *1 WLAN *2 Necessity of Body SAR Case I Installed Installed Necessary Case II Installed N.A.
