Based on this vast experience Terma has developed the next generation of Solid State based Radars, the SCANTER 5000 series, specifically tailored for small target detection in the VTS, CSS and SMR markets. Being a coherent, pulse compression radar, the SCANTER 5000 series provides utilisation of Doppler enhanced process sing (MTI) for improved detection of moving objects in clutter zones (sea and land). So far, the SCANTER 5000 series has been available on the market for two years and ordered for more than 150 units.
