Museum, Felker AAF, 3rd Port, 17 Mile Railroad, and HQ TRADOC).
There's plenty to do off post, too. Go to Busch Gardens, shop at the
Premium Outlets, Williamsburg Pottery, Yankee Candle, the Farmer's
Market at Merchant's Square/ William & Mary College (take the Trolley),
or visit our historical sites. If staying at the Holiday Inn, dinner Friday
night is available at The Jefferson Steak House (across the street),
Plaza Azteca, 5-Guys, or the Movie Tavern (fast food while watching a
movie) on High Street. Dinner Saturday night at the famous Le Yaca
French Restaurant (a short walk from the Holiday Inn). Menu selection
will be made after January 1st. Cost will be announced and payment
must be received by July 1st. TCAA will pay part of the cost. Art
Conroy will be our honored guest speaker.
TCAA was founded on 15 July 1995 by four retired TC aviators
sitting around the lunch table at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club,
Green Course Cafe, in Williamsburg. For those of you in town
Wednesday, 15 July 15, we'll meet again at the Green Course Cafe for
lunch. Call or e-mail me for directions and reservations (757-229-3062;
[email protected]).
Reunion 2014: 20-23 October, Circus Circus Hotel, Las Vegas,
Nevada.
Bob Price and his wife Jan drove from Newport News,
Virginia to Las Vegas and back. He mailed this Newsletter from Las
Vegas, so it has become a historical document, probably worth a
dollar a decade from now. We had a wonderful time visiting with old
friends. Emmett Knight was inducted into the TCAA Hall of Fame.
Despite our advanced ages, TCAA members maintained our reputation
as Army aviators on the prowl. What happened in Vegas, stays in
Vegas....
In December TCAA will once again be sending a check for $500 to
Quad-A for deposit in our Scholarship Fund. That money will go
toward our 2015 $1000 Merit Scholarship Award. As a reminder,
please get your applications into Quad-A NLT 1 May 2015. Our
contribution comes from monthly 50/50 raffles held at luncheons and
from member contributions.
In January we will be sending our updated Membership Roster. Our
numbers remain strong. We keep adding members!!! TCAA is in great
financial shape, too. Come to the 2015 Reunion and we’ll prove it.
