Thanksgiving Street Banquet
Facts sheets for Press
! The 2014 26th annual traditional Thanksgiving meal will be held on Wednesday
November 26, at the Gospel Rescue Mission Men’s Shelter, located at 312 W. 28th
Street in South Tucson. We estimate that between 2,500 to 3,200 men, women, and
children will have attended this year’s event.
! Once again, we serve our guests on a different day than the other agencies to enable
them to enjoy more than one Thanksgiving feast this year.
! GRM will have had over 2,500 pounds of cooked turkey and gravy donated for our
guests to enjoy. Tucson Resorts and businesses will have helped prepare 650 pounds
of stuffing, homemade rolls and donating food warmers to allow us to keep the food
warm and ready to serve. The GRM Program men and women, staff and volunteers
will have prepared the rest of the items for the feast.

! Gospel Rescue Mission and the guests that attended the banquet on November 26
want to thank the many donors and volunteers that will have made our 26 years of
being able to host the Annual Thanksgiving Street Banquet such a success!

GRM operates two shelters, one for men and one for women and women with
children. On a daily basis, the GRM provides nightly shelter to homeless men
women and women with children. Last year, GRM provided over 247,126 meals,
thousands of clothing items and 66,192 shelter beds for our clients. GRM also
provides a long-term residential addictions recovery and education program for men
and women. This program includes counseling, academic education, computer
literacy, life skill training, and job readiness.
! Community Ministries is the outreach arm of the Gospel Rescue Mission. Last
year, this ministry served over 7,755 families, which includes the working poor and
underprivileged.
In addition to the services we offer for our homeless clients we also have a
community outreach to help the many needy families in our area. We provide food
boxes, clothing, household items, furniture, and appliances.
! The Agency Fair section of the street banquet came to share and make the guest
aware of services they provide to poor, needy and homeless.
