SCHOOL UNIFORM FOR 2014
Learners must maintain a high standard of dress at all times. Most school uniform and sports
uniform items are available from the official stockist, a cash discount is available.

Good quality used items of school uniform are also available from the Second-hand shop. This
shop is situated next to the tuck-shop. The Second-hand shop will be open Tuesdays from 07:00
– 11:00 and Wednesdays from 07:30 – 11:00.

General notes:
“Green school shorts” refers to the bottle green shorts available from the tuckshop. No other
green shorts are accepted.
All sports may avail themselves of the official school track suit in winter or for use at evening
meetings. The official tracksuit may be worn to school in the winter.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (KDA) AND SPORTS PRACTICE UNIFORM for Grades 3 – 7
Boys and Girls:

White sports shoes with short white socks
Physical Education uniform must be worn to school for the whole day on the day that learners
have Physical Education.
Physical Education uniform only available from the Tuck-shop (Mon – Fri 08:00 – 13:00
excluding break times).
PERSONAL APPEARANCE

Hair: Hair must be groomed in a neat, conservative manner, appropriate for school. No
colour streaks, flashes, gel or any other visible hair products may be used. This applies
to boys and girls.
Boys:
Hair must be neat and should not touch the collar or the ears. Short back and
sides or No. 3 or No. 4 shaved styles are acceptable – no steps, braiding or
dreadlocks. ‘Spiky’ hairstyles, cornrows, or ‘flip-up’ fringes are not allowed. No
modern hairstyles with lines cut in hair are allowed. Boys with curly hair may not
grow to their hair to a length that when it is straightened it goes past the ears or
collar. Curly hair to be cut close to the head suitable for a primary school learner.
Girls:
Hair that touches the collar, or is longer, must be tied back and clipped away from
the eyes. Green, white or red ribbons, bobbles or hair bands may be used. No
beads may be plaited into the hair. Long braids are regarded as loose hair and
must be tied back.
Nails:
Nails should be no longer than the ends of the fingers. No nail varnish.
Jewellery:
Girls are allowed to wear small gold or silver (no colour stones) stud earrings and a plain
wristwatch. No other jewellery may be worn with the school uniform.
Boys are only allowed to wear a wristwatch with the school uniform.
