The 3rd Eulji International Nursing Conference
Welcome Address from the President
I am so pleased to welcome you all to the 2014 Eulji International Nursing Conference (EINC 2014). I would like to
express my sincere gratitude to all the Korean and international nursing scholars, professionals, and students who
joined the conference for academic exchange. This is the 3rd EINC biennial Eulji International Nursing Conference.
The EINC aims to fulfill our commitment to excellence in nursing in the areas of clinical practice, education and
research. Following the success of the two preceding EINCs, I am pleased to present the EINC 2014 with the theme,
“Challenges in Nursing Profession: A Call for Radical Transformation”.
Health care environments and care needs are continuously changing, which require health care professionals to
evolve accordingly. The nursing roles have been rapidly evolving as nurses are tasked with a wider range of health care
responsibilities. The value of inter-professional collaboration is emphasized more than ever. Leadership has become a
key value. With many challenges we are facing in the field of health care, it is worthwhile to bring forth challenges we
are facing, initiate discussions and prepare to move forward. I hope this conference will function as a platform of
nursing evolution in the 21st century.
Eulji University is uniquely specialized in the field of health care education in Korea. We are always willing to take on
responsibility with a sense of duty in educating health care professionals and providing quality care. We are
committed to support fully the advance of nursing practice, education and science. We would appreciate your
encouragement and interest. Once again, I am thankful to all of you who are participating. I believe that your wisdom
and knowledge here today will accelerate the advance of the nursing profession.
Thank you very much.
