FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
The Institute of Physics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in
cooperation with international and domestic scientific institutions, is organizing the 8th
International Conference on Photonics and Applications (ICPA-8) from 12 to 16 August
2014 in Da Nang city, Vietnam. The ICPA conference is organized every 02 years.
The objective of the meeting is to provide a forum for interaction involving worldrenowned researchers so as to stimulate and enhance interest in Photonics, Optics, Lasers,
Optical sensor, Spectroscopy … around the Asia Pacific region. Additional information

Weather
Da Nang city is in the middle of Vietnam that lies in the tropics. During the
conference period, the temperature is about 28-30 °C. Light clothing will be comfortable.
Travels
The overseas participants are recommended to reach Da Nang city at the Da Nang
International Airport. The distance from the International Airport to Da Nang center is
about 3 km. The local transport from Da Nang International Airport to Da Nang center is
recommended by Taxis.
Visa Requirement
All foreign participants must be in possession of a passport with valid visa.
Details are available from the official website of the Vietnamese Embassy in your
country. Please get an invitation letter of the ICPA organizing committee in order to
apply for one entry visa at the Vietnamese Consulate / Embassy in your country. A
one-month visa-free visit is applicable to citizens of Japan, Republic of Korea and almost
of ASEAN countries.
Scientific Program
After the day 12 Aug., 2014 is for participant’s arrival and registration, the
conference sessions are planned for 03 days, 13 - 16 Aug., 2014. The scientific program
of the meeting consists of plenary talks in the morning and parallel sessions. The plenary
sessions and the invited talks in the parallel sessions will be devoted to ICPA
topics of current interest. Times allocated for presentations (inclusive of question time)

Call for Abstract and Papers
Contributed papers in all topics of ICPA 8 are welcome.
An abstract in English should be submitted to the ICPA Secretariat before: 12 May 2014.
Please follow the instruction for the preparation of abstract (01 page).
A conference booklet including of abstracts and program will be distributed at the
conference.

Registration fee covers admission to all sessions, daily coffee breaks, lunches and
banquet, program & abstract book and ICPA Proceeding book. It does not include lodging.
Requests for cancellations received before or on 12 July 2014 will be refunded 50% of the
fee paid. After 12 July 2014, there will be no refund for cancellation of participation.
For local participants, payments can be paid via cheque or bankdraft in Vietnam
Dong to “Vien Vat Ly” before 12 August 2014.

Abstract.
The abstract should be written in English and typed on a regular A4 - size paper (21 cm x
30 cm).
The Institute of Physics is organizing the 8th International Conference on Photonics and
Applications (ICPA-8) from 12 to 16 August 2014 in Da Nang city, Vietnam. The Meeting
is organized in cooperation with international and domestic scientific institutions. This is
the Eighth in the ICPA series organized every 02 years. The scientific objective of the
Meeting is to provide a forum for interaction involving world-renowned researchers so as
to stimulate and enhance interest in Photonics, Optics, Lasers, Spectroscopy … around the
Asia Pacific region.
