Pre-Conference NGS Bioinformatics Workshop
15th-16th November 2014, Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore, India
Hosted by: SciGenom Research Foundation(SGRF) and Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB), Bangalore
SciGenom Research Foundation (SGRF), National Institute of Mental Health
and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) & The Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB) are
pleased to host the 2014 NextGen Genomics & Bioinformatics Technologies
(NGBT) conference in Bangalore, India. In just over a decade, since the first
human reference genome was completed for US$3 billion, the sequencing
technologies have radically changed allowing human genome sequencing to
be accomplished in a week for under US$1000. The next generation
sequencing technologies over the past five years have enabled a large
number of genomic studies that impact human health and disease. Also, this
has made possible the growth of microbial, animal and plant genomics
studies. While the data production has increased at a rapid pace, challenges
in analyzing and interpreting the data remain. The NGBT conference will
cover the recent advances in next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, bioinformatics for NGS and translational applications of NGS in various
areas of lifesciences including human health and medicine.
