Listed in OSHA Proposed Silica Rule
The newer SKC GS-3 Cyclone features three inlets arranged tangentially. This unique
design eliminates sensitivity to ambient wind speed and orientation, decreases particle loss
due to impaction, and provides sharp size selection of the respirable fraction to meet the
requirements in the 2013 OSHA proposed rule for silica. The GS-3 Cyclone is constructed
of lightweight conductive plastic that eliminates electrostatic effects.

How PPI Works!
The patented† SKC PPI Sampler is similar to
a traditional 37-mm cassette, collecting dust
on a filter when a sample pump pulls air
through it. But, that’s where the similarity
ends! The PPI Sampler contains four small
size-selective impactors in its inlet section
that scrub non-respirable dust leaving
only respirable dust to collect on a 37-mm
collection filter for analysis.
