Description
Complete program of high-quality plate compactors for the most
varying pile-driving and soil compaction activities. The quickchange system makes it easy to attach them to a basic machine. A
digger, of whatever size, can thus be changed into a powerful,
mobile and very flexible pile-driving and soil compaction
installation. Dehaco can take care of the necessary modifications
to the basic machine. The rotating types (KHP12R, -25T, -30R and
50R) have a turning head capability of 360° and the KHP30R and
KHP50R a double eccentric, which makes these types very
versatile and flexible.

Power
Plate compactors are designed to transmit high energy
values from a pile-driver/-drawer to a pile and the soil
beneath it. The resulting forces, either through impact
power or vibration, are so strong that without good
maintenance and skilled use these powers can damage
the plate compactor.

Construction
A KHP plate compactor exists of three components:
• (vibration) carter
• pulling head
• hydraulic clamp

Carter
To create vibrations the carter contains one (KHP5, -6, -12,- 25),
two (KHP30,-50) or three ( KHP300, KHP450) eccentric weights
that rotate in a vertical plane. These eccentrics are driven by an
hydraulic motor, mounted on one of the bearing covers of the
carter. The gear wheels that guarantee the right synchronisation,
are mounted into heavy roller bearings with their axes The
bearings are lubricated by means of a 'splatter lubrication system'
(KHP5,-6,-30,-50), which means that the rotating eccentrics cause
an oil spray in the carter. The KHP12 and -25 are lubricated with a
grease nipple. The maximum speed of the hydraulic motor can be
governed by an oil stream control valve.
Pulling head
The pulling head contains the rubber elements (elastomeres) that
isolate the vibrations of the carter from the boom of the digger. The
plate compactor is connected to the digger with a special adapter
to the rotating part in the pulling head.
Hydraulic clamp
The hydraulic clamp has two clamp jaws, a fixed and a moveable
one. A cylinder that is integrated in the die-cast clamp housing
controls the moving clamp jaw. The cylinder lid contains a safety
valve that guarantees the cylinder remains pressurised in case of
hose damage. The hydraulic clamp is operated hydraulically or
electrically by means of the two push buttons on the remote
control.
Safety
Be very careful with the safety of people. Dehaco pays a lot of
attention to this aspect and has been VCA certified by TÜV The
Netherlands

Special features
Flow-block
Plate compactors require a certain operating pressure and oil flow.
The hydraulic installation (mounted on the basic machine) that
supplies oil to the plate compactor, has to be adjusted to the plate
compactor. This in unpractical if you want to connect the plate
compactor to different types of diggers. You would then have to
adjust the hydraulic installation of your diggers to the plate
compactor every time. The solution: a pressure-compensated
three-way flow regulator with pressure limiting valve (flow block).
This flow block ensures that the plate compactor always gets the
right amount of oil, whatever the settings of the hydraulic
installation on the basic machine. The device works optimally, you
save adjustment costs and you prevent damage caused by
overloads.
Overflow valve
The overflow valve is an additional safety device for the oil flow
regulation. As soon as too much oil is being pressed into the
engine and is not transported through the return hose, the oil is
ejected trough the overflow valve. End the production process
immediately in such a case.
Maintenance
General maintenance
Preventive maintenance, including all regular services, prevents
unnecessary failures and ensures the plate compactor is always
operational. The maintenance exist of regular lubrication and
inspection of the moving parts of the machine. Lubrication is
essential, so follow all lubrication instructions meticulously. Clean
all lubrication nipples, fill openings and drainage holes carefully so
no dirt can enter the machine with the grease.
Daily maintenance
• check all seals for leakage (hydro-engine,
steering block,
carter, clamp etc.)
• check hoses for leakage and damage
• check the oil level in the carter
• grease plunger of the clamp
• check the condition of the clamp jaws
• inspect all elastomeres in the pulling head
• check electrical remote control cable to the hammer type
vibrator
• check link between plate compactor and digger
• check whether all bolts are tight and locked
• check chain for wear, especially in the
clamp house, change chain in case of wear!
