SoundTrap 202HF Digital Sound Recorder The SoundTrap 202HF is a compact self-contained underwater sound recorder for ocean acoustic research. It offers a working frequency range of 20 Hz to 150 kHz, making it ideal for broadband bioacoustic work. It also features low selfnoise making it suitable for aquatic noise measurements. The SoundTrap 202HF is capable of recording continuously for 12 days, or for 50 days on a 10 minute per hour duty cycle. Each instrument is supplied with a traceable calibration certificate and features self-calibration checks for confirmation of performance in the field. Data offload and battery recharge are done via USB, and output files are in the industry standard WAV format. A wet connector provides communication options for GPS position logging, real time telemetry and tethered array configurations. Ancillary sensors are included for logging temperature and tri-axial acceleration. The included software offers flexible deployment options for sample rate, gain control, delayed start and duty cycle. Plus the included water proof IR remote control makes for convenient in-the-field ad hoc measurements. SoundTrap’s firmware is available under GPL open source license enabling users to take advantage of the DSP processor for real time processing tasks such as real time detection and dosimetry.
