After contact with eyes
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
After ingestion
If swallowed, immediately drink: Water. Caution if victim vomits: Risk of aspiration! Immediately get
medical attention.
SECTION 5: Firefighting measures
5.1. Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media
Water spray. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Foam. Extinguishing powder.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons
High power water jet.
5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Combustible. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.
5.3. Advice for firefighters
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical resistant suit.
Additional information
Use water spray/stream to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Use a water spray jet
to knock down vapours/gases/mists. Contaminated fire-fighting water must be collected separately. Do
not empty into drains or the aquatic environment.
SECTION 6: Accidental release measures
6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Remove all sources of ignition. Provide adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapour.
Avoid contact with skin, eye and clothing. Wear personal protection equipment.
6.2. Environmental precautions
Do not empty into drains or the aquatic environment. Explosion hazard.
6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents).
Collect mechanically. Treat the assimilated material according to the section on waste disposal.
SECTION 7: Handling and storage
7.1. Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling
In case of open handling equipment with built-in suction must be used. Do not breathe vapour.
Vapours are heavier than air and will spread at floor level. Provide fresh air.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Use explosion-protected machinery, apparatus,
suction equipment, appliances etc. Use only non-sparking tools.
7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage rooms and vessels
Keep container tightly closed. Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of ignition
- No smoking. Keep/Store only in original container. Protect against: Light. Do not store at
temperatures over: 30°C
Advice on storage compatibility
Do not store together with: Material, rich in oxygen, oxidizing.
