Muriel Bärtschi started at the end of 2013 as a research assistant and PhD candidate at the Centre of
Competence for Public Management at the University of Bern. She previously worked as a strategic
marketing and recruiting specialist within the HR-Department of the city of Winterthur. At the University
of Zurich she earned her Master Degree of Science in Social and Economic Psychology. As part of her
master thesis she dealt with the New Leadership Paradigms and in particular with Transformational
Leadership Theory. As a team leader and teacher she was working at the elementary schools of the cantons Thurgau and Zurich. She spends her leisure time with sports and culture activities.
