Laurel Regional Hospital
Laurel Regional Hospital is a full-service, community hospital, sited on 48 acres, conveniently located
in Laurel, Maryland. It offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services to the Northern
Prince George’s County community, as well as other surrounding counties.
Laurel Regional Hospital houses the Gladys Spellman Specialty Care Unit, which is the only specialty care
program in the area, within an acute-care hospital, providing 24-hour physician coverage. This 46-bed unit
offers comprehensive health care for adults requiring more professional intervention than can be provided in
a sub-acute, skilled, or nursing home setting. In 2012, the Gladys Spellman Specialty Care Unit received the
“Best of Hyattsville” award in the convalescent homes category by the Hyattsville Award Program.
In 2011, Laurel Regional Hospital was recognized as a “Best Hospital” in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area by
U.S. News & World Report.
In 2010, Laurel Regional Hospital’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center was awarded the Center of Distinction
and Robert A. Warriner, M.D., Center of Excellence awards by Diversified Clinical Services. The Center has a 93 percent
healing rate.

Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is the only
rehabilitation center in Prince George’s County that’s
accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of
Rehabilitation Facilities.
