Examples of which are the adaptation of a lignite coal fired
CFB boiler to successfully permit the co-firing of biomass,
also the optimization of the installed spraying layers of an
existing flue gas scrubber.
Initial steps begin with a detailed investigation of the existing
plant, from which the process parameters will be
recalculated with state of the art performance analysis tools.
The installation of online monitoring equipment provides
data in support of the investigation. The goal being to close
all balances to calculate a representative problem analysis.
Subsequent test runs in conjunction with the client display
the performance to the plant and render the provision of a
sustainable solution.

CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics
A CFD simulation provides a localized and time resolved
representation of the flow or exchange procedures in
single and multiple-phase processes.
Pollutant concentrations and energy densities in apparatus
can be locally determined in space and time.
The precisely detailed images of physical and chemical
occurrences in plants obtained with CFD help us to
provide our customers with individual, optimized solutions.
CFD Analyses
 Flow optimization of all kinds of ducts
 Wet flue gas desulphurization optimization
 Flow optimization of burners
 Combustion analyses of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels
 NOx reduction in all kinds of boilers
13

Measurement services
 Measurement of gaseous and particulate emissions
 Grid measurements in air- and flue gas ducts
 Continuous logging and analysis of operational data
 Balance of plant analysis and efficiency calculations
 Installation and operation of test rigs
 Temperature, pressure, velocity, mass flow and sound
level measurements
 Aerosol and dust measurements
 Electric power and current measurements
