About Us
Child Care
Public Holidays
The Mordialloc Neighbourhood House is a
community based non-profit organisation,
with a voluntary Committee of Management
and managed on a daily basis by a salaried
Manager funded by the Department of
Human Services.
The Neighbourhood House is a registered
Centre with the Department of Education and
Early Childhood Development. Quality and
friendly childcare is available five days per
week. Unless otherwise stated, childcare is
available for adult classes during the day for
$12 per child. Bookings are essential.
NO REFUND will be given once a
permanent childcare position for the term
has commenced.
There will be no classes on public or school
holidays (except in special pre-arranged
circumstances).
MNH was first established in 1984 operating
from a small building at St. Aidan’s Church,
Parkdale. MNH was known at that time as
Parkdale Neighbourhood House. Due to an
active committee and assistance from the
then Mordialloc Council the Neighbourhood
House relocated to Mordialloc in March
1994. The MNH now operates 7 days a
week.
Committee of Management
Do you have a vision? Can you commit to a
monthly meeting and become actively
involved in the governance of the MNH. If
so, we would love to welcome you on board.
The committee currently meets on the 2nd
Tuesday of the month. Complimentary child
care is available to committee for any day
time MNH related tasks.
Committee Members must attend a
minimum of 50% of meetings and be active
participants in fundraising events. It would
be an expectation that all committee
members actively contribute to 2 fundraisers
over the year, this will then entitle
committee members to enjoy priority for
places in House programs.
Refunds
Please choose your classes carefully; we
cannot be responsible for changes in your
circumstances. Refunds will be issued if at
least seven (7) days notice is given prior to
class commencement date. An administrative
fee of $20 will be deducted from refunds.
Annual Membership is non-refundable. We
regret that classes with low enrolments may be
cancelled or deferred by MNH. You will be
advised of this by telephone prior to the
commencement date. On these occasions a
full class refund will be issued. Refund
cheques can take up to one (1) week to
process and be forwarded by mail.
Disclaimer
MNH reserve the right to cancel or change
class days, times, fees and tutors when
necessary.
Membership Fees
The annual membership fee of $20 assists with
the mail out of the MNH brochure. The option
of applying for a voting membership applies.
Membership fees are not refundable.
Volunteers
If you have an area of interest where you
would like to volunteer at the ’House’ please
speak to the Manager. Choose from working
in the garden, the office or in one of the
programs (subject to the usual security
checks). We’d love to have you on board!
Enrolment Policy:
Enrolments will be confirmed on payment of a
deposit of $20, which will be retained as part
of your final payment. Payment in full is
required 5 working days prior to class
commencing, however, if you are having
difficulties, a regular instalment will be
accepted by arrangement with the Manager.
Protecting Your Privacy

participants will be held in accordance with the
‘Information Privacy Act 2000’. The Mordialloc
Neighbourhood House shall ensure it
complies with such information privacy
principles and shall not disclose any such
information except in accordance with the
provisions of the Privacy Act.
Commencement of Classes
Commencement of classes is subject to
sufficient numbers. Should a class be
cancelled, MNH will notify you and your
