KB Article 2013_EE_780 March 07, 2013 Last update: Nov 27, 2014 How can I save my work in Cellica Database application and later on reuse it / How can I take a backup of my work in Cellica Database and restore/reuse it later? (Personal/Enterprise Edition) You can save your work in Cellica Database (i.e. Profile and Forms) to reuse it later or restore this work in some cases. Backup/Restore utility allows importing profiles and forms work from backup allows saving your lot of efforts of recreation of profiles and forms. To use this utility, you should have the backup of Cellica Database application database. We recommend taking timely backup of your work with Cellica Database. It’s quite easy; you just need to backup "UserProfileDB.mdb" from following path installation path of Cellica Database software. A) Cellica Database Anywhere Enterprise Edition Database path: "C:\Program Files\Cellica Database Anywhere Enterprise Edition\Desktop Files\DB\" Personal Edition Database path: “C:\Program Files\Cellica Database Anywhere\Desktop Files\DB\” B) Cellica Database (WiFi) Enterprise Edition Database path: " C:\Program Files\Cellica Database Wi-Fi Enterprise Edition\Desktop Files\DB\" Personal Edition Database path: “C:\Program Files\Cellica Database Wi-Fi \Desktop Files\DB\” C) Cellica Database (Internet) Enterprise Edition Database path: " C:\Program Files\Corporate Wireless Database Viewer Plus\Desktop Files\DB\" Personal Edition Database path: “C:\Program Files\Wireless Database Viewer Plus\Desktop Files\DB\” © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 1 of 18 1. Download the backup/restore utility from the following path according to OS of the computer where you will run this utility. Run the CellicaDBAnywhereBackupUtilty.exe Select the appropriate application edition (Personal\Enterprise) Figure 1: Select Application Edition Restoring backup involves 4 key steps 1) Select Backup 2) Import Users (Enterprise Edition) 3) Import Profiles 4) Import Logo (Enterprise Edition) 5) Import Reports (Enterprise Edition) 6) Import Global Variable (Enterprise Edition) 7) Import Forms © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 2 of 18 Enterprise Edition: 1) Select Backup Click on "Select Backup" option and select your Backup database "UserProfileDB.mdb" from the path where your backup database is located (UserProfileDB.mdb). Click "Save Path" button after selecting your backup database. (In "Select Backup" module, whenever you select backup database, "Select path" will be converted to "Save Path" button.) Figure 2: Select Backup database( UserProfileDB.mdb) 2) Import Users (Enterprise Edition) Click on “Import Users” option. From the list of users in backup database, select the required users and click “Import Users” button. You will get prompt after successful addition of user from backup database to the current installation. © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 3 of 18 Figure 3: Import users from Backup Database 3) Import Profiles Click "Import Profiles" option. Select required profiles one at a time from listed profiles which you want to import in the existing installation. © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 4 of 18 Figure 4: Validate profile for the target database path Use "Validate Profile" button, it will validate if the database and tables for selected profile are available on the same path as in backup or not. Otherwise application will prompt to locate the database (database in which table for a profile is present). © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 5 of 18 Figure 5: Select database if it is on a different path Once database is validated, assign users to this profile and use "Import Profile" button. Now your profile will be imported and mapped to all selected users. Click on import logo button to add logo in new installation. 5) Import Reports (Enterprise Edition) Figure 8: Successful Report Import in existing installation © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 7 of 18 Import each report by selecting one by one from Report List by clicking on Import Report button. 6) Import Global Variable (Enterprise Edition) Figure 9: Successful Global Variable Import in existing installation © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 8 of 18 Select each Global variable one by one, Validate it and then Import each Global variable by clicking on “Import Global Variable” button. 7) Import Forms Now same way, click on "Import Forms" option and select the form which you want to import in the existing installation from the list of forms in Cellica Database backup. Click on "Check User Present" button to verify if for the selected form, a user with appropriate device type and required profiles are present or not in your existing installation. © Cellica Corporation 2014 P a g e | 9 of 18 Figure 10: Import form After validation, you will get profiles assigned to this form, use "Import Form" button. Open Cellica Database Anywhere – Enterprise Edition desktop application. Click on "Check User Present" button to verify if for the selected form, a user with appropriate device type and required profiles are present or not in your existing installation.
