The Kingfisher Informa on Service Installa on Guide ‐ Fishing PloƩer Data Sodena Maxsea Olex TM Planner Quodfish Transas Navifisher 3000 The fishing plo er files Kingfisher produce for the Sodena system are within a folder named “R_KIS…...”. The end of the filename will be different depending on the data you are installing, e.g. “R_KIS‐ORCA_[YEAR]” for subsea cable & renewable energy. The fishing plo er files Kingfisher produce for the Maxsea system end with the extension “.p ”. Each filename begins with “KIS…...”. There are two Maxsea files produced with each dataset, one containing the structure posi ons and one for addi onal informa on, such as emergency contact numbers. The fishing plo er files Kingfisher produce for the Olex system end with the extension “.gz”. Each filename begins with “KIS…...”. The fishing plo er files Kingfisher produce for the TM Planner Quodfish system end with the extension “.udb”. Each filename begins with “KIS…...”. Kingfisher work closely with offshore operators, government departments and the fishing industry, to supply fishermen with the latest offshore news and posi ons of structures and zones. We act as a central hub for offshore data, edi ng and conver ng the informa on, for onward supply to fishermen. Our aim is to supply the very latest and most accurate informa on, in the most suitable format for the fishing industry ‐ helping to improve fishing safety, in the vicinity of offshore structures. Installa on instruc ons:
1. Insert the CD or USB and copy folder “R_KIS…...” into: 1. Insert the CD or USB C:\Program Files\Sodena\Turbowin 2. From within the Maxsea plo er, click: [“File”] ‐ [“Open”] This installa on guide is aimed at helping fishermen be er understand the process of installing offshore data onto their fishing plo er. Informa on that is converted and tested by Kingfisher on behalf of project partners, includes: oil & gas surface and subsea structures (FishSAFE) and subsea cable & renewable energy structures (KIS‐ORCA). 2. From within the Sodena plo er, click: [“Menu”] ‐ [“Folders”] ‐ [“Main” or “Secondary”] ‐ [“Complete List”] There are a huge amount of structures and poten al fishing hazards in these datasets, which are updated in January and July each year. A great number of new structures and fishing hazards are added to each new release of data, therefore, it is important to keep up to date with the latest releases. 1. Read From 2. Write To 3. Ignore ‐ Select [“Read From”] 3. The files on the USB s ck will be displayed ‐ Select the file “KIS…...gz”. 3. Select the drive le er for the CD or USB being used (e.g. “D”, “E”) 4. Click on the file “KIS…...p ” from the list and click “Open” 3. The data will now display on your fishing plo er. 5. The data will now display on your fishing plo er. Alterna vely copy the files into your “My Maxsea” user file folder, which can be found in (My Documents/My Maxsea).
**SODENA FILE IMPORT FROM CD ‐ for pre 2007 systems only** The Sodena Folder “R_KIS…...” is automaƟcally Ɵcked as read only on CDs. To resolve this,
copy the folder onto your PC, Right Click on the Folder, Select the ProperƟes Tab' and unƟck
the aƩributes box Ɵtled 'Read Only'.
4. Click the [“Read”] bu on and confirm you wish to proceed, by clicking [“Yes”]. 3. Select file “KIS…...udb” from the list and click [“Done”]. 3. The data will now display on your fishing plo er. 4. A window will be displayed "How should the imported plo er objects be organized?" ‐ Select the required des na on layer, ensuring just one le er label is highlighted. 5. Click: [“Load”] and select file “KIS…...cra” from the list. 6. No password is required, so click: [“Enter”] 7. The data will now display on your fishing plo er. [“User Maps”] ‐ [“Set Up”] 2. Select the folder you’d like the data to go into (folders at top of box). 3. Rename the folder if you wish. 4. Click: [“Import”] 6. A window will then be displayed showing the Terms & Condi ons for use of the data. 2. From within your Microplot plo er, click: [“File”] ‐ [“File Menu”] 7. At this point, remove the card, before agreeing to these terms and condi ons by press the “Zoom In” key. Keep up to date... Hazard News
8. If you have accidentally forgo en to remove the SD card, please switch off the FishSAFE Unit at your earliest opportunity and remove the SD card, storing it in a safe place.
